S1: Artificial Intelligence in Teacher Education: Innovative Practices, Digital Competences, and Ethical Challenges

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming teacher education, creating new opportunities for pedagogical innovation, personalized learning, professional development, and data-informed decision-making. At the same time, its integration raises important questions regarding digital competence, assessment, academic integrity, inclusion, transparency, privacy, and the ethical use of emerging technologies.

This Special Session aims to bring together researchers, teacher educators, educational technology specialists, and practitioners to discuss theoretical perspectives, empirical studies, innovative practices, and institutional strategies related to the use of Artificial Intelligence in initial and continuing teacher education. Contributions may address generative AI, AI literacy, AI-TPACK, professional development, curriculum innovation, assessment, inclusive education, ethical frameworks, educational policy, and case studies involving the implementation of AI-supported teaching and learning practices.

The session seeks to promote international and interdisciplinary dialogue and to identify sustainable, responsible, and evidence-based approaches to preparing teachers for education in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
